The HOPE Quilt

The HOPE Quilt was created for the Adam J. Lewis Academy in Bridgeport, CT. Lizzy desigend the quilt, inspired by the school's motto, "Hope Rising". The quilt features hope-themed drawings on fabric which make up the geometric border. These drawings were created by children and staff at the Adam J. Lewis Academy, and members of Peace by Piece: The Norwalk Community Quilt Project. The central panel illustrating the word HOPE was created in appliqué. The background sky fabric was hand dyed by artist, Alana Klinka using ombre technique. 250 people contributed to the quilt as volunteers artisans and hand quilters at community quilting bees. The quilt was unveiled at the school in November 2021.
